Jesus goes on trial—again! You read correctly. An Italian court is set to consider whether Jesus Christ really existed. Atheist Luigi Cascioli has accused Enrico Righi, a catholic priest, of misleading the public by presenting Jesus as a historical character. This dispute began when Righi asserted the historical existence of Christ in a parish newsletter. On Cascioli’s Web site he observed: “This complaint does not wish to contest the freedom of Christians to profess their faith … but wishes to denounce the abuse that the Catholic Church commits by profiting from its prestige to present historical facts as if they are real when they are only inventions.” Thus, a judge will hear the case and rule on whether he believes Jesus was a historical figure. Cascioli realizes the odds are against him, as there is enormous evidence supporting the existence of Jesus. He joked: “It would take a miracle to win.” That fact, however, has not stopped this atheist from attacking the existence of Jesus. Ironic, is it not, that Jesus was present during the Creation of man—and yet, men continue to place Him on trial. For more information, see:

Hilary White reported that British scientists are seeking permission to create a human-rabbit hybrid embryo for use as research subjects. Professor Ian Wilmut, a leading advocate of human cloning for experimentation and creator of Dolly, the cloned sheep, has added this latest to his list of requests from the UK’s Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA). The HFEA, regarded as the most permissive national regulatory body in the world, has not yet refused Dr. Wilmut permission for any of his proposed research including the creation of human cloned embryos for research. Wilmut told British media, “We would only be working at a very early stage with a maximum of 200 cells. I wouldn’t think of a human embryo at that stage as being a person.” I guess Wilmut forgot that he, too, was once at the 200-cell stage as he developed in his mother’s womb. Imagine discovering $350,000 in diamonds! That is exactly what happened to Haider Sediqi, a taxi driver in Los Angeles. Patterning himself after the “Golden Rule,” Sediqi tracked down the owner of the diamonds and returned them. Eric Austein mistakenly left the diamonds in Sediqi’s taxi when he hopped out at LAX airport. Sediqi found the bag of diamonds and tracked Eric down from a cell phone bill he discovered in the bag. Austein, a New York jeweler, has turned Sediqi’s act of honesty into gold. After promising him a reward, Austein sent Sediqi a $10,000 check and a diamond bracelet along with a thank you note. Isn’t it nice seeing a “Happy Ending” to honest citizens. For more information see:  http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-11-30-honest-cabbie_x.htm.

An article that appeared on ABC NEWS web site was titled: “Studies: Women Genetically Programmed to Cheat.” The article discusses a study published by the University of California, Los Angeles Center on Behavior, Culture, and Evolution and the University of New Mexico which says women have evolved to cheat on their mates during the most fertile part of their cycle—but only when those mates are less sexually attractive than other men. This comes on the heels of a study reported by Tim Spector, director of the Twin Research Unit at Saint Thomas’ Hospital in London, in which he claimed “around 40 percent of the influence on the number of sexual partners and infidelity were due to genetic factors.” He pointed out a “genetic” cause for adultery. If this were the case, then why would God forbid (on numerous occasions) the act of adultery? If it were genetic, He would not expect humans to obey His command regarding fidelity.
