By age five most children know their own name as well as the names of their siblings and parents.
\nBy age five most children can feed themselves, and with gentle prompting can bath themselves.
\nBy age five most children are potty-trained and able to eat on their own.
\nBy age five many children have a distinct personality and are able to laugh at simple jokes.
\nBy age five many children are able to help with small chores and can carry on conversations.
\nAnd by age five many children have begun their formal educational training.
\nAnd yet, this is the age at which some suggest parents ought to have the right to terminate their lives. Let that sink in for a moment. Parents naming a child, caring for that child, and then killing it–legally.
\nIt\u2019s called after birth abortion. This inhumane concept showed up on the scene a few years ago and is picking up support on college campuses. In a new article titled \u201cTRENDING: MORE COLLEGE STUDENTS SUPPORT POST-BIRTH ABORTION\u201d<\/a> released October 29, 2014, Mairead McArdle shares the disgusting growing acceptance of this idea that pro-life activists are seeing in their encounters on college campuses across the country.
\nAs you might expect, some abortion supporters aren\u2019t exactly thrilled about this information getting out. Heavily liberal fact-checking site Snopes.com quickly responded to the story by giving it a \u201cfalse\u201d rating, but they failed to provide any evidence as to why it is false. Additionally, they neglected to point out the fact that post-birth abortion has been endorsed by some in the medical community for nearly three years.
\nOn February 23, 2012 the Journal of Medical Ethics<\/em> published an article titled \u201cAfter-Birth Abortion: Why Should the Baby Live?\u201d In this article, the authors proposed that we get rid of the term infanticide and begin using the term \u201cafter-birth abortion.\u201d In the introduction of this article the authors state: \u201cthe authors argue that what we call after-birth abortion (killing a newborn) should be permissible in all cases abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled\u201d (parenthesis in orig.).
\nWhile the thought of killing newborns may be something you never thought would happen during your lifetime, consider how desensitized Americans have become to abortion. The authors stated: \u201cThis means that many non-human animals and mentally retarded human individuals are persons, but that all the individuals who are not in the condition of attributing any value to their own existence are not persons. Merely being a human is not in itself a reason for ascribing someone a right to life\u201d <\/strong>(emp. added). Being human is special! Man was created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26), and we possess a soul that will go on into eternity.
\nWhy would men suggest we kill innocent babies? The authors declare: \u201cThe alleged right of individuals (such as fetuses and newborns) to develop their potentiality, which someone defends, is over-ridden by the interests of actual people (parents, family, society) to pursue their own well-being because, as we have just argued, merely potential people cannot be harmed by not being brought into existence. Actual people\u2019s well-being could be threatened by the new (even if healthy) child requiring energy, money, and care which the family might be in short supply of\u201d <\/strong>(emp. added).
\nBasically, life has been reduced to a matter of convenience. Over the weekend, 29-year-old terminally ill woman Brittany Maynard took her own life with legally prescribed lethal medication after planning November 1st<\/sup> as her death date months ago. It was no longer convenient for her to fight and be with friends and family, so she took the decision in her own hands and was praised as \u201ccourageous\u201d and \u201cbrave.\u201d When the choice involves infants and those in the womb, convenience strikes again. Abortion has long been the tool used by young women to keep their career aspirations from being derailed by the inconvenience of a human life. But, now it\u2019s cool to have a baby at a young age. \u201c16 and Pregnant\u201d and \u201cTeen Mom\u201d have taken the stigma away from young pregnancy. But, what happens when \u201c16 and pregnant\u201d turns into \u201c19 and looking to go to college to start a career\u201d? That 3-year-old becomes an inconvenience again, and convenience is the only determining factor in the value of a human life.
\nConsider the words found in Proverbs 6:16, \u201cThese six things the Lord hates. Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood.\u201d
\nSadly, as Mairead McArdle reported, \u201cAnecdotal evidence by leaders of pro-life groups such as Created Equal and Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust said in interviews that not only do they see more college students willing to say they support post-birth abortion, but some students even suggest children up to 4 or 5-years-old can also be killed, because they are not yet \u201cself aware\u201d (see http:\/\/www.thecollegefix.com\/post\/19896\/<\/a>)
\nMcArdle continues noting, \u201cA trend seen by pro-life activists that frequently engage college students on campuses nationwide is the growing acceptance of post-birth abortion, or killing the infant after he or she is born.\u201d
\nKristina Garza, spokeswoman for Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust<\/a> said, \u201cThere is this notion that is common on campus, that it\u2019s OK to kill babies because somehow we don\u2019t become human until we are self aware. A common number that is going around is 4 years old.\u201d
\nThe saddest part about this is the shock value that it brings. \u201c4 years old?!? That\u2019s unbelievable!\u201d It is unbelievable, but have we become desensitized? Is that worse than the fact that over 50 million babies have been slaughtered in the last 40+ years since Roe v. Wade<\/em>? Is that worse than the fact that over 3,500 will be put to death today alone? It\u2019s because we\u2019ve become desensitized to abortion and feel that it\u2019s normal that people are able to start moving the line a little bit further into after-birth abortion, then to the age of four. We must be consistent in fighting for ALL life and should be absolutely sickened by every threat to human life.
\nCurrently our children are sitting at the feet of instructors who are teaching that man evolved from ape-like creatures. Textbooks have replaced God with naturalism and humanism. Our nation and courts have tried their best to outlaw and silence Jehovah God. Killing children is just the next logical step for a nation that has no absolute standard for right and wrong. While Christians must stand up and fight the atrocity of killing newborns, we must also rise up and address the root of the problem\u2014the reality that God exists and our nation will not stand without Him. The inspired psalmist stated \u201cThe wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God\u201d (Psalm 9:17). We need to remind our communities, coworkers, friends and family, \u201cRighteousness exalts a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people\u201d (Proverbs 14:34).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
