\nOne of the many ramifications from the radical feminist movement has been an increased\u00a0effort\u00a0to ensure that\u00a0the\u00a0abortion rights, which\u00a0are now in place, continue and\u00a0are\u00a0even expanded. The mantra\u00a0of\u00a0pro-choice\u00a0advocates\u00a0is \u201cA\u00a0woman has the right to govern her own body.\u201d\u00a0Susan Sherwin, a radical feminist,\u00a0stated in an article entitled \u201cFetal Rights\u201d:\u00a0<\/span>
\nWhatever the reason, most feminists believe that a pregnant woman is in the best position to judge whether abortion is the appropriate response to her circumstances. Since she is usually the only one able to weigh all the relevant factors, most feminists reject attempts\u00a0to offer any general abstract rules for determining when abortion is morally justified.1<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
\nSadly,\u00a0under the guise of standing up for women\u2019s rights, radical feminists have convinced women\u00a0that it is not only permissible to\u00a0end the life of their children,\u00a0but it is their right and\u00a0only\u00a0<\/b>their right\u00a0to make that decision.\u00a0Women who would not personally\u00a0choose to have an abortion have been persuaded that to deny others that right is to deny them a basic human right.\u00a0Reasons for ending the life of a baby are presented as humanitarian.\u00a0Pro-choice advocates argue that there are\u00a0women\u00a0who\u00a0are in abusive relationships, have financial difficulties, medical conditions, mental health issues, or are too young to be forced to care for a child. The argument is that for those women,\u00a0the option of abortion must be there in order to ensure they are not being disenfranchised because of our male dominated society. The choice for ending the life of a child is further couched with rhetoric\u00a0that\u00a0downplays\u00a0and softens\u00a0the horror of what is being supported. Pro-choice advocates refer to a baby as a pregnancy, a fetus, or a group of cells\u2014dehumanizing the unborn child.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nInterestingly, much of the current literature from the Pro-choice movement has moved away from arguing over\u00a0\u201cwhen life begins.\u201d\u00a0In fact this statement can be found on The Pro Choice Action Network:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u2026the\u00a0abortion services community is well-aware of what is really inside a pregnant woman. But so is almost everyone over the age of six.\u00a0The pro-choice movement and\u00a0abortion providers are in the business of protecting and respecting women’s human rights, their moral autonomy, and their choices. We want every mother to be willing and every child to be wanted. We are pro-woman, pro-child, pro-family, and pro-life, in the true sense of that term.2<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nInstead of trying to convince us that a fetus is not an unborn child, the pro-choice advocates\u00a0focus\u00a0on convincing us that ensuring the right of a woman to abort an unwanted child is the humanitarian thing to do\u2014and unfortunately, women are being persuaded.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nIt is ironic that\u00a0feminists,\u00a0a\u00a0group\u00a0who claims to stand for the absolute rights of females, essentially disenfranchises\u00a0a large group of those females through their stance on abortion rights. At least half\u00a0of the victims,\u00a0and possibly more because of the use of selective abortions permitted in other countries,\u00a0are females. Nothing could be more juxtaposed than one female asserting her rights as a feminist, while denying\u00a0an unborn\u00a0female the basic right of life.\u00a0Ironically,\u00a0the pro-choice arguments would preclude them from disavowing the right of a woman to abort based on gender. If the mother decides for whatever reason that raising a boy is more appealing to her, she would have the right to end the life of any female child she would carry. So the very means of assuring the\u00a0absolute right of females\u00a0also\u00a0removes\u00a0the\u00a0rights of unborn females.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nEven more concerning is that the arguments now being asserted\u00a0by pro-choice advocates\u00a0could very easily be used to allow infanticide\u2014a child who has had an accident and would ever after be a financial burden to the parent could be killed. It would be the humane thing to do. The scenarios are endless.\u00a0Will we allow ourselves\u00a0to become so desensitized to the idea of murder for a humanitarian reason that\u00a0eventually\u00a0society\u00a0will be allowed\u00a0to judge the ultimate worth of an individual based on his\/her ability to contribute to society?\u00a0<\/span>
\nLet us never forget or refrain from fighting for the sanctity of the life God has given us.\u00a0\u201cWhosoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man\u201d\u00a0<\/b>(<\/b>Genesis\u00a0<\/b>9:6<\/b>\u00a0<\/b>)<\/b>.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
