\nIn\u00a0The Wizard of Oz<\/i>, Dorothy was instructed by\u00a0Glinda,\u00a0the Good Witch,\u00a0to click her heels together and repeat the phrase \u201cThere\u2019s no place like home\u201d until she was\u00a0magically sent back to the farm\u00a0in Kansas.\u00a0She left the world of\u00a0the Emerald City, a deceptive wizard, flying monkeys\u00a0and an evil witch to return to where she belonged.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nWhy would Dorothy want to return home when she could have any desire fulfilled in the\u00a0enchanted\u00a0land she found herself? Because she\u00a0knew she\u00a0did not belong.\u00a0 Her\u00a0longing\u00a0was to return where she was loved and needed by her family.\u00a0Do we have any modern\u00a0Dorothys\u00a0today?\u00a0Are women working outside the home when there is\u00a0a duty they are\u00a0to fulfill\u00a0in the home?\u00a0\u00a0What\u00a0does God command of women?\u00a0<\/span>
\nWho should be home?\u00a0\u00a0Why\u00a0would\u00a0a woman\u00a0stay home\u00a0instead of having a career in the secular world?\u00a0\u00a0One reason perfectly\u00a0answers\u00a0the question:\u00a0She is a mother. Mothers need to remain home. The responsibility to rear children is given\u00a0solely\u00a0to the parents.\u00a0Several\u00a0generations of\u00a0women\u00a0have been indoctrinated they must work\u00a0outside the home to help their family\u00a0thrive. Instead let us return to God\u00a0and follow\u00a0His commands which do not alter!\u00a0<\/span>
\nTitus 2:3-5\u00a0teaches us\u00a0<\/i>the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much w<\/i>ine, teachers of good things —<\/i>\u00a0that they admonish the young women to love their hu<\/i>sbands, to love their children,<\/i>\u00a0to be discreet, chaste,\u00a0<\/i>homemakers<\/i>, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed<\/i>\u00a0<\/i>(NKJV).<\/i>\u00a0<\/i>\u00a0The older women are to teach\u00a0the younger\u00a0good things<\/i>\u00a0including to love their children, to be obedient to their husbands\u00a0and to be homemakers.\u00a0Ladies, let us obey that command!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nMotherhood and homemaker are beautiful words. These are honored privileges in which a woman should be eager to excel. One cannot give their best when their attention divides between home and career. A mother\u2019s focus should be on her family.\u00a0<\/span>
\nIf a married woman has no children, she can\u00a0freely\u00a0work outside the home if such is the agreement between her and her husband. As well, an unmarried woman can\u00a0build a career\u00a0without restrictions\u00a0until she chooses to marry and becomes a mother.\u00a0A young woman planning ahead can chose a job she can use in her\u00a0future home. Working\u00a0from home is easily managed today. This gives a woman the advantage to remain where she is needed.\u00a0<\/span>
\nWomen\u00a0who have children are given a unique opportunity\u00a0which should not easily pass\u00a0to others. Loving family members,\u00a0trusted friends or respected day cares are not to whom the responsibility\u00a0was given.\u00a0To\u00a0nurture and properly rear those souls with which\u00a0they have been blessed takes a mother.\u00a0\u00a0A newborn transforms to an adult in rapid speed. Will you use those eighteen years well?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nCircumstances arise where children may not have a mother present in the home. Death\u00a0or divorce\u00a0brings change\u00a0where a father\u00a0alone\u00a0or\u00a0other family member helps\u00a0rear children.\u00a0 A\u00a0widow\u00a0may require finding employment to earn income. But\u00a0let\u2019s face facts,\u00a0the world\u2019s influence of feminism has refocused\u00a0many\u00a0Christian women to see careers as normal, even expected. Is that what the Bible teaches?\u00a0<\/span>
\nMotherhood is belittled,\u00a0demeaned and lowered by those who do not love\u00a0nor respect\u00a0God. On the other hand, the\u00a0career woman has all the glory in her chosen field as she juggles home and profession. But\u00a0juggling too many commitments and\u00a0responsibilities\u00a0is\u00a0difficult to continue\u00a0for long. Woman,\u00a0wife, mother and career are\u00a0time consuming endeavors which can exhaust one\u00a0from performing all\u00a0well.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nAdam calls\u00a0Eve\u00a0\u201cthe mother of all living\u201d. She remains the first woman, wife and mother. At her beginning,\u00a0we are given the commandment which applies\u00a0to all married in Genesis 2:24.\u00a0These two souls\u00a0began\u00a0the first home.\u00a0It was to man the certainty\u00a0of toil\u00a0was given (Genesis 3:17-19).\u00a0\u00a0It is to the\u00a0husband\u00a0to be\u00a0the\u00a0head of the home\u00a0with his\u00a0wife in\u00a0subjection\u00a0as taught in\u00a0Ephesians 5:22-24\u00a0Wives, submit to you<\/i>r own husbands, as to the Lord.\u00a0<\/i>\u00a0For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; an<\/i>d He is the Savior of the body.\u00a0<\/i>Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so\u00a0<\/i>let\u00a0<\/i>the wives\u00a0<\/i>be\u00a0<\/i>to th<\/i>eir own husbands in everything<\/i>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/i>Women are to obey God\u2019s command and submit to their husbands in the Lord.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nWhat commands are given to mothers?\u00a0\u00a0Mothers\u00a0are shown\u00a0by\u00a0the valid use of\u00a0example in God\u2019s word.\u00a0While\u00a0not all Bible women are\u00a0patterns to imitate, many examples are\u00a0given\u00a0of godly mothers. Mary, the mother of Jesus, shows us the importance of using the brief time we are given with our child to teach them to serve our God (Luke 2). Hannah purposed in her heart to give a son back in service to God\u00a0(1 Samuel 1). Paul speaks of Lois and Eunice who were instrumental in rearing Timothy\u00a0(2 Timothy 1). The woman of Proverbs thirty one remains a model of how to be an excellent wife and mother.\u00a0In God\u2019s wisdom, we\u00a0learn by Biblical examples of those\u00a0following His commands.\u00a0\u00a0Women striving for righteousness would obey.\u00a0A wise woman also learns from Biblical examples of those who rejected God\u2019s word leading to destruction of family and souls.\u00a0<\/span>
\nWhy\u00a0is the\u00a0mother\u2019s\u00a0presence\u00a0needed at home?\u00a0Mothers\u00a0are\u00a0extraordinarily\u00a0necessary to\u00a0love, protect and guide\u00a0the\u00a0children they have been entrusted.\u00a0This is a constant task where she must be present to be vigilant.\u00a0She must protect her children from the\u00a0wickedness in the\u00a0world.\u00a0A mother at home takes a proactive stand in guarding her home and children\u00a0from evil companions and worldliness. She lives the commands of God\u00a0in\u00a0putting her family first.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nProverbs 24:3-4 tells us\u00a0Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established<\/i>;<\/i>\u00a0By<\/i>\u00a0knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.<\/i>\u00a0<\/i>A homemaker fills her life with\u00a0service to her physical family, spiritual family and community.\u00a0She\u00a0looks to serve in every way\u00a0and becomes an example and instructor to her children. Each\u00a0day\u00a0is filled with creating a godly home\u00a0and using\u00a0her\u00a0skill\u00a0to work for her family and others.\u00a0\u00a0A mother\u2019s\u00a0abilities\u00a0are\u00a0uniquely designed for shaping the character and lives of her own children.\u00a0Yes, even\u00a0the future of a nation is determined\u00a0by the homes\u00a0produced\u00a0within.\u00a0Proverbs 14:34 states\u00a0Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people<\/i>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nDorothy endured trials and hardships to come to the conclusion she should\u00a0not\u00a0have left home. Once she realized her need, she took the steps to return. Changes can be difficult to make. However,\u00a0they are easier than\u00a0looking back in regret knowing it is now too late. Your child has\u00a0only\u00a0one childhood. A\u00a0mother should harness every second\u00a0of\u00a0the fleeting time.\u00a0A wise woman obeys her Lord.\u00a0\u00a0Click your heels\u00a0together\u00a0and go home!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
