In view of the questionable and immoral actions he undertook in his first term, most<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>people\u00a0with God\u2019s righteousness thought surely he will not be reelected. So why did the people<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>vote\u00a0for him again? Soviet leader Josef Stalin said, &#8220;Those who cast the votes decide nothing.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>Those who count the votes decide everything.&#8221; However where is God in this process? Has God<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>simply\u00a0gone on vacation and left mankind to their own sinful devices to obtain and maintain<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>power\u00a0over the people?<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nEarly on, God tells us He creates the nations. He promised to make Abraham\u2019s descendants<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>into\u00a0a great nation (Genesis 12:2). Some 85 years later, God told Rebekah \u2018Two nations are in<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>your\u00a0womb\u201d (Genesis 25:23). They were the fathers of Israel (Jacob) and Edom (Esau \u2013 Genesis<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>36:9). After God created nations, was He involved with them?<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>Regarding giving the land of Canaan to Israel, God did so, \u201cbecause of the wickedness of<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>these\u00a0nations\u201d (Deuteronomy 9:5). The stipulations of obedience\u00a0vs\u00a0disobedience to God was<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>part\u00a0of the Old Covenant with Israel (Deuteronomy 28:58-65). Israel became\u00a0more wicked\u00a0than<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>heathen\u00a0peoples so were removed from their land (2 Kings 21:9; 2 Chronicles 33:9). Some<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>might\u00a0argue that this was only because Israel was God\u2019s chosen people.<br \/>\nWhat about the<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>Canaanites? They were also wicked and removed. On the other hand, God blesses a nation<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>when\u00a0they are obedient to His ways.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>Israel\u2019s prophet Jonah went to wicked Nineveh, Assyria\u2019s capital, calling for their repentance.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>They did and the king commanded the nation to repent (Jonah 3:4-10). Over the next 60 years,<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>Assyria became the world power (God\u2019s\u00a0instrument )\u00a0to remove Israel\u2019s northern kingdom from<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>its\u00a0land (722 BC). Although God sent them to remove all of Israel, He became displeased<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>because\u00a0Assyria wanted to take \u201cmany\u201d nations and return to their idolatry (Isaiah 10:5-10).<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nAfter the northern kingdom was removed, Judah was about to be conquered because of its evil<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0idolatry. Because of King Hezekiah\u2019s pleading to God, Jerusalem was spared destruction (2<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>Kings 19:20, 35-37). God indeed was involved in the existence and destruction of the nations. Is<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>it\u00a0so today?<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nIn 1985, Ludwig\u00a0Klinka, a preacher for the Lord\u2019s church in Germany told me that he<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>believed\u00a0Germany was divided into two separate countries after World War II because it had<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>become\u00a0such a wicked nation. God controls the nations, but does He select the leaders?<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nAlthough Judah was spared being exiled for another 135 years because of Hezekiah\u2019s prayer,<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0nation remained unfaithful to God. God used Babylon as His instrument of wrath. The book<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0Daniel reveals the depth of God\u2019s involvement. Even though Daniel had interpreted Babylon\u2019s<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>King Nebuchadnezzar\u2019s dream, telling him, \u201c&#8230;the God of heaven has given you a kingdom,<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>power, strength, and glory;&#8230;\u201d (Daniel 2:37), Nebuchadnezzar commanded the nation to worship<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>an\u00a0idol under the threat of being incinerated. After the miraculous salvation of the Jewish men in<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0furnace, he decreed that all should worship God (Daniel 3:26-29). Still he was filled with<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>arrogant\u00a0pride (Daniel 4:30). God wanted him to learn submission to the real sovereign. In<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>another\u00a0dream and Daniel\u2019s interpretation, God declared three times \u201c&#8230;the Most High rules in<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses\u201d (Daniel 4:32). After being<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>humiliated\u00a0by grazing like an ox for a lengthy period, he was restored to his throne, declaring \u201cI<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>praise\u00a0and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works\u00a0<i>are\u00a0<\/i>truth, and His ways<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down\u201d (Daniel 4:36-37). Nowhere does<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0Bible tell us that God stopped being involved in the nations, nor selecting their leaders. So<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>why\u00a0Barack Obama as the US president?<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nIn 2003, Illinois state Sen. Obama voted against a bill that would save a baby who survived an<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>abortion. This attitude supports infanticide.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>In March 2008, US Sen. Obama declared the Sermon on the Mount justifies homosexual<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>unions. Evidence of his full support of homosexuality is replete: (1) open homosexuality in the<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>military\u00a0(2) In June 2009, he issued a memorandum giving homosexual partners of federal<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>employees\u00a0many of the benefits enjoyed by the spouses of their heterosexual employees. Two<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>days\u00a0later Secretary of State Clinton extended \u201celigible family member\u201d status to homosexual<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>live-in partners of state department employees sent to serve outside the USA. The benefits?<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>Housing, education, medical services and travel to foreign post. (3) In May 2012, during the<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>reelection campaign, President Obama endorsed homosexual marriage, and thereby eroding the<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>divine\u00a0sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>Leadership is often a reflection of the citizens. Over half of the people between ages 18 and<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>64 believe homosexual marriage is acceptable. In this\u00a0election,\u00a0the people, not legislatures or<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>judges, but the people voted in three states to legalize homosexual marriage. We are at the stage<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0changing the USA to the US of S &amp; G. What will God do to us? Is He ever unjust? Never!<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nWe get what we deserve. God has given us the president in harmony with the immorality of<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0nation. Barack Obama is God\u2019s man! The question that lurks is what does God have in mind<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0him to do as our national leader. We must pray he would turn to God\u2019s righteousness as did<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>Uganda\u2019s President\u00a0Museveni\u00a0(1 Tim 2:1-2). In his prayer, he asked God to \u201cForgive us of sins of<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>&#8230;sexual\u00a0immorality, drunkenness and debauchery&#8230;.We want to dedicate this nation to you so<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>that\u00a0you will be our God and guide. We want Uganda to be known as a nation that fears God and<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>as\u00a0a nation whose foundations are firmly rooted in righteousness and justice &#8230;.\u201d May God\u00a0have<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:200}\">\u00a0<\/span>mercy\u00a0on the USA as He exercises His justice. \u201cRighteousness exalts a people.
