A GSA is a student-initiated club that seeks to promote acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle among middle school and high school students. Only 24,000 public\u00a0secondary\u00a0schools exist in the United States\u00a0(www.nces.ed.gov). Thus, 16% of our children\u2019s academic institutions house these student organizations that\u00a0threaten to steal the souls of the next generation.\u00a0Moreover, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan actively promotes the creation of GSAs under the guise of the anti-bullying movement (antibullying.gov).\u00a0As the homosexuals and their \u201callies\u201d march forward, the number of\u00a0GSAs will continue to increase.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559731&quot;:720,&quot;335559738&quot;:120,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:360,&quot;335559991&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nWhat can the Lord\u2019s church do to fight this \u201cspiritual wickedness\u201d in the \u201chigh places\u201d of public education (Ephesians\u00a06:12)? The time is long past for the church merely to defend itself. Now is the time for the church to go on the\u00a0offensive in the public schools to save our children\u2019s physical and spiritual lives. Fortunately, the laws of our country\u00a0still grant young Christians a powerful platform in which\u00a0to fight this battle.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559731&quot;:720,&quot;335559738&quot;:120,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:360,&quot;335559991&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nGSAs have imposed themselves upon public schools through the Federal Equal Access Act (1984).\u00a0When the Act was instituted, its intent\u00a0was to protect religious, student organizations, such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. However, the homosexual movement has used it as an instrument to spread the homosexual ideology.\u00a0Basically, the Act prevents a school from discriminating against any student-initiated club due to its \u201creligious, political, philosophical, or other content\u201d of its meetings.\u00a0In other words, the Act requires a public secondary school to accommodate any student-initiated club, irrespective of the club\u2019s religious principles or lack thereof.\u00a0The bottom line is\u00a0this:\u00a0public schools must take a neutral\u00a0and accepting\u00a0stance with regard to student clubs.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559731&quot;:720,&quot;335559738&quot;:120,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:360,&quot;335559991&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nThe homosexual movement realizes\u00a0and acts upon\u00a0the great opportunity the\u00a0Federal Equal Access Act (FEAA)\u00a0affords.\u00a0Politically active homosexuals and their \u201callies\u201d\u00a0understand\u00a0that in order to conquer the political battles of tomorrow, it must win the minds of children\u00a0today.\u00a0GSAs are one way in which the homosexual agenda is elevated in our nation\u2019s public schools.\u00a0Hopefully, Christians understand\u00a0the same principle on a deeper level than politics:\u00a0In order for our children to enjoy the victory of Jesus Christ at the final judgment, Jesus must win their hearts today (2\u00a0Corinthians\u00a06:2).\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559731&quot;:720,&quot;335559738&quot;:120,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:360,&quot;335559991&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nAlbeit winning\u00a0political\u00a0and legal\u00a0debates is\u00a0not\u00a0the end game for the Christian\u00a0(Matthew\u00a028:18-20), the enemies of the Lord\u00a0are using both politics and the law\u00a0to turn our young people away from the\u00a0Gospel.\u00a0Because our spiritual enemies will not cease using these methods, the Lord\u2019s church ought not to shirk from\u00a0political and legal battles. We must welcome them, for in so doing the light of the\u00a0Gospel will shine unto \u201cthem which\u00a0believe not\u201d\u00a0(2\u00a0Corinthians\u00a04:3-4). Here are two ways\u00a0in which we can fight these spiritual battles in America\u2019s public schools.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559731&quot;:720,&quot;335559738&quot;:120,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:360,&quot;335559991&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nFirst, since student-initiated religious clubs are\u00a0acceptable in public secondary schools\u00a0under the FEAA,\u00a0our young people can start a Bible study club that meets after school. Youth ministers and parents, if you know an outstanding teenage boy who shows promise for leadership, encourage him to start a Bible study club with his fellow students.\u00a0What a way to see\u00a0teenagers shine like young Samuels and\u00a0Davids!\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559731&quot;:720,&quot;335559738&quot;:120,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:360,&quot;335559991&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nOf course, the young man would need help in preparing the curriculum for the club meetings. However, the local congregation, with its elders, deacons, preachers, teachers, and parents, can aid him in this regard.\u00a0If the devil can use young people to establish ungodly student-initiated clubs, certainly the Lord can use His young people to establish Bible study groups.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559731&quot;:720,&quot;335559738&quot;:120,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:360,&quot;335559991&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nSecond, the local church of Christ\u00a0itself\u00a0can host Bible study sessions during after school hours on school premises. Standing U.S. Supreme Court precedent has held that schools must not discriminate against religious organizations\u00a0based upon their\u00a0Biblical viewpoint\u00a0(<i>Good News Club v. Milford Cent.\u00a0<\/i><i>Sch.<\/i>, 533 U.S. 98\u00a0[2001]).<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559731&quot;:720,&quot;335559738&quot;:120,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:360,&quot;335559991&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nFor decades, the denominational world has used the FEAA to teach its false doctrine. Now the homosexual movement is doing the same.
