\n\u201cThese days, families come in all forms\u2013\u2013single dads, double moms, sperm donors, egg donors, one-night-stand donors….\u00a0It’s 2012 and anything goes.\u201d1<\/span>\u00a0That is a direct quote found on the official NBC site about their new show called \u201cThe New Normal.\u201d\u00a0The in-your-face sitcom premiered this fall after heavy promotion\u00a0throughout the summer\u00a0by NBC.\u00a0The description continues:\u00a0\u201cBryan and David are a Los Angeles couple, and they have it all. Well, almost. With successful careers and a committed, loving partnership, there is one thing that this couple is missing: a baby.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nSo, by inference, according to the\u00a0peacock over at NBC Universal, those of us who are married according to God\u2019s definition of marriage are no longer \u201cnormal.\u201d\u00a0In fact, not only are we not normal, but\u00a0even to\u00a0believe\u00a0or publically\u00a0support marriage as only between 1 man and 1\u00a0woman\u00a0will define you as a\u00a0\u201cbigot.\u201d\u00a0This is evidenced by the reaction to Dan Cathy, the founder of\u00a0Chik-Fil-A, after he\u00a0made a passing comment during an interview with\u00a0T<\/i>he Biblical Recorder<\/i>, which is the news journal of the North Carolina Baptists.2<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nWhat did Cathy actually say that caused\u00a0what some are calling a \u201cfirestorm of controversy,\u201d \u201chate speech,\u201d and a \u201cculture war controversy\u201d? \u202fHere are his remarks:\u00a0\u201cWe are very much supportive of the family\u2014the\u00a0Biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.\u201d\u00a0As you can see clearly\u2013\u2013Dan Cathy, according to the media, is nothing more than a hateful person and obviously, according to NBC, \u201cabnormal.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nI can\u2019t help but notice though that NBC has acknowledged\u00a0the\u00a0un-natural nature of this homosexual relationship as being one that cannot procreate.\u00a0This\u00a0\u201cnormal\u201d couple\u00a0is in need of a\u00a0woman<\/b>.\u00a0But not just any woman\u2013\u2013a woman who needs money and is willing to carry a child as a surrogate for the 2 homosexual men.\u00a0The irony here is that NBC even realizes that their definition of \u201cnormal\u201d is not natural.\u00a0<\/span>
\nOf course, the name of this trendy sitcom is no accident.\u00a0I have written on multiple occasions how words are being manipulated and redefined to meet the agenda of the anti-God\u00a0progressives.\u00a0They use words and give titles to immoral actions that create a tone intended to make you think, \u201cWell, it is not that bad.\u201d\u00a0I submit to you Planned Parenthood or the American Civil Liberties Union as perfect examples of this.\u00a0When NBC tells\u00a0you upfront that this is the \u201cnew normal,\u201d NBC is trying to sear\u00a0your conscience.\u00a0The\u00a0apostle Paul provides the same warning to Timothy\u00a03<\/span>\u00a0and Titus\u00a04<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nThough it is before my time, I have heard of the controversy\u00a0that arose\u00a0when the first married couple was shown sharing the same bed\u00a0on TV.\u00a0Imagine that\u2013\u2013the\u00a0sight\u00a0of a married husband and wife sharing a bed would cause a controversy.\u00a0When we look back at those things that were viewed as\u00a0different\u00a0and controversial 50 or 60 years ago, we laugh.\u00a0<\/span>
\nThis makes me wonder how seared our conscience will be\u00a040 years from today.\u00a0Will we look back at shows like \u201cWill & Grace\u201d or \u201cThe New Normal\u201d and wonder why we were so offended? Will we laugh at ourselves for being so ridiculous? Or will our own children and grandchildren shun the beliefs we hold today as hateful and judgmental?\u00a0 As Paul says in Romans 3:4, \u201cMay it never be!\u201d\u00a0For years, the left has been slightly nudging us bit by bit as to not be noticed.\u00a0As Christians we are finding\u00a0ourselves and our moral\u00a0consciences\u00a0being seared by the wisdom of the world.\u00a0<\/span>
\nWe must stand firm! A homosexual couple paying a single\u00a0woman\u00a0as a surrogate to have a child is\u00a0not<\/b>\u00a0the \u201cnew normal.\u201d\u00a0I suspect if Sodom and Gomorrah or the Roman Empire had television networks in their time, we would consider this show a re-run of the past with destruction to follow.\u00a0<\/span>
\nIn closing, I will say this\u2026 in November of this\u00a0year,\u00a0this country will have a choice to make in all elections from national to local.\u00a0In most cases, there will be a very clear distinction between a candidate who will support and praise a show like \u201cThe New Normal\u201d and a candidate who would condemn it as immoral and destructive to our society.\u00a0I challenge you to learn these distinctions and\u00a0vote\u00a0as a Christian should.\u00a0Let your voice be heard!\u00a0<\/span>
