\u201cTURNING and turning in the widening gyre
\nThe falcon cannot hear the falconer;
\nThings fall apart; the\u00a0centre\u00a0cannot hold;
\nMere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
\nThe blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
\nThe ceremony of innocence is drowned;
\nThe best lack all conviction, while the worst
\nAre full of passionate intensity.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The words of the poet William Butler Yeats, penned in the early 20th<\/span>\u00a0century, describe a world in which the foundation is crumbling, compasses are failing, and anchors are loosening. Although Yeats\u2019 poem \u201cThe Second Coming\u201d certainly did not teach the truth on that particular event (I Thess. 4:13-18), his words remind us of the radical changes affecting traditional values in America today.\u00a0If it has\u00a0not already, America is\u00a0losing its moral compass and many are\u00a0threatening to destroy\u00a0the\u00a0principles of Christendom on which this country was founded.\u00a0In particular, homosexual activism, led by President Obama, is attacking God\u2019s design for marriage and sexuality.\u00a0Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (\u201cLGBT\u201d) activists have never had\u00a0a greater ally in the\u00a0oval office.\u00a0<\/span>
\nFirst of all, each summer that the current president\u00a0has been in office, he has held an LGBT\u00a0Pride Month reception at the White House. This year\u2019s reception took place on June 15. In a 1,000 word speech that lasted almost ten minutes, the President reminded the audience of their\u00a0political\u00a0accomplishments and encouraged them\u00a0to pursue\u00a0the\u00a0LGBT agenda. At the outset of his speech,\u00a0President Obama said, \u201cAfter decades of inaction and indifference, you have every reason and right to push, loudly and forcefully.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nChristians in America must be warned\u00a0of\u00a0these\u00a0words as he concluded his speech. As the President ended by rallying the audience, he said, \u201cSo we still have a long way to go, but we will get there…We\u2019ll get there because of every man and woman and activist and ally who is moving us forward by the force of their\u00a0moral<\/b>\u00a0arguments\u2026And as long as I have the privilege of being\u00a0your President\u2026you won’t just have a\u00a0friend<\/b>\u00a0in the White House, you will have a fellow\u00a0advocate<\/b>\u201d (emp., TAV).\u00a0<\/span>
\nCritiquing this statement of\u00a0the current administration\u00a0is not difficult:\u00a01) In reality, the \u201cmoral\u201d arguments of homosexual activists are immoral (Rom. 1:26-28; I Cor. 6:9-11);\u00a02) Indeed, the leader of our nation\u00a0is the best \u201cfriend\u201d and \u201cadvocate\u201d the homosexual movement has ever had in the White House. His actions during his four\u00a0years undeniably demonstrate his active role\u00a0in advancing the \u201crights\u201d of homosexuals.\u00a0<\/span>
\nSecond, on February 23, 2011, Attorney General Eric Holder, upon\u00a0the direction of the President, declared that the Department of Justice would no longer defend the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act (\u201cDOMA\u201d). DOMA defines \u201cmarriage as \u201conly a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife.\u201d In addition, DOMA defines the word \u201cspouse\u201d as only \u201ca person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife.\u201d\u00a01 U.S.C.A. \u00a7 7.\u00a0Stated simply, our leader\u00a0declared unconstitutional God\u2019s design for marriage (Matt. 19:4-6).\u00a0The oval office elected to be tolerant.\u00a0<\/span>
\nUnder DOMA, individual\u00a0states were not obligated to recognize same-sex marriages from another state that has legalized same-sex marriage. Undercutting DOMA by declaring\u00a0it unconstitutional, our current President\u00a0has\u00a0made clear that he wishes every state in the Union to recognize the same-sex marriages of the six states that\u00a0now\u00a0legally approve of such an ungodly relationship.\u00a0<\/span>
\nFinally, as a real world example of President Obama\u2019s homosexual agenda, the University of Arkansas recently allowed an anatomically male student, who identifies as a female, to use the female restrooms. The decision of the university was influenced by the Obama administration. The Department of Justice\u00a0had\u00a0sent a letter to university officials encouraging them to make sufficient arrangements for the student.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nIf Christians allow homosexual activists to revolutionize the moral landscape of this country, America will realize the words of W.B. Yeats. Our beloved nation will be lost spiritually\u2014and perhaps physically. At the very least, the result will be\u00a0a nation that\u00a0neither tolerates\u00a0the God of heaven, his Word, nor his faithful followers.\u00a0All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good citizens\u00a0to say nothing. Let your voice be heard.\u00a0<\/span>
